Inline monitoring simulation solution through OTOM V.1.08 and TwinCat XAE

OTOM software can monitor and adjust the appropriate process conditions for the best outcome in a feedback loop control. The collaboration with PLC software for transferring data via ADS communication as a secure and fast portal makes an in-line monitoring solution for LATW/LATP process in a fraction of a millisecond. The implemented method can be run as two separate stand-alone packages: GUI mode, and Batch mode. Thus, with the application of OTOM Batch as an alternative solution, the interaction between data mining algorithm and simulation tool is created. OTOM Batch can be used as an external application by a third-party application. The outputs and the inputs can then be sent via .txt file or third-party application. Thus, a more direct way to access output data from the simulation model is obtained.

However, it is also possible to transfer data within the OTOM to the PLC software (TwinCat) via ADS communication which is presented here. The approach was tested successfully in OTOM Composite center and provided within the OTOM GUI V.1.08.  In this video, a user enters the name of the variables in both OTOM and TwinCat software and monitor random generated velocity and power inputs and calculated temperature outputs of the Tape and Substrate.
